Welcome, we are glad you stopped by!
In order to stay on track to become financial independent we decided to create this site and store all of our research in one place. At the same time, share our stories with like-minded folks and provide a platform for us to collaborate toward a common objective. And while at it, we wanted our children to learn the techniques we used to pursue the simple path to wealth.
A Compact Life, is us in a nutshell. When we think of ourselves and our lifestyle, we think small and simple, but live fully. Anywhere from the way we live, to the way we save, invest, and spend. Atanas and I have three children, under the age of 5. We currently live in a 2BR, 2BA condo and have only one car. We have learned to be quite minimalistic in our approach to living. Spending less, means less junk and more room for us, in our small, but very tidy home.
When you realize that there is more to life than working 9:00am to 5:00pm until you are 70 years old, you start broadening your horizon and using your imagination to discover the potential of achieving financial independence.
You are excited about what life will be like, if you can do anything you want and live the life you have always wanted.
This site focuses on providing a detailed level of analysis that can help start your journey to financial independence and do what matters the most to you.
We will delve deeper into many topics, such as, but not limited to, money, lifestyle, spirituality, family challenges, family victories, and education. We will talk about our pasts, present and our life going forward.
Our ultimate goal is to leave a wise financial, spiritual, and intellectual legacy for our own children. In the purest sense, a legacy that will benefit even our great-great-grandchildren, centuries from now.
Here is a quote describing our approach to life.
“A master in the art of living draws no sharp distinction between his work and his play; his labor and his leisure; his mind and his body; his education and his recreation. He hardly knows which is which. He simply pursues his vision of excellence through whatever he is doing, and leaves others to determine whether he is working or playing. To himself, he always appears to be doing both.” – Lawrence Pearsall Jacks
